Who we are
Here's the deal, Mosaic Church cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ and making HIM known. Mosaic Church is a family of messy individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom. What you'll find at Mosaic is story after story of people moving from a broken mess to a message of hope.
Where we come from
Pastor Lucas Barrientes dreamed of planting a church with a simple goal—to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus, one step at a time. With the help of the initial Dream Team, 23 people committed to seeing this dream become a reality, Mosaic Church held it’s first prayer gathering in a living room on October 25, 2015. On August 27th of the next year, more than 200 friends and family attended Mosaic’s official launch at its first home location, the Ingram Square shopping center in San Antonio, Texas.
From the beginning, Mosaic has focused on reaching people who do not know God personally and building relationships with them through life-giving worship experiences, community service projects, and small group connections. The powerful message of the Gospel communicated through a simple, engaging and creative style has resulted in immediate growth. Within Mosaic’s first four years, the church has grown from a core team of 23 to a little over 250 people in weekly attendance between multiple English and Spanish worship experiences. What's even more exciting is that in these first several years, more than 300 people have committed their lives to Christ.
Today, many people attending Mosaic continue to take all kinds of next steps in their faith journey.
Where we're headed
For far too long, the church has been known for what it's against. We want to be known for what we are FOR. We are #FORSanAntonio.
What's the bottom line? More than ever, Mosaic Church is committed to fostering a family built around hope. Hope for today. Hope for the future. Hope for better. Hope for progress. Hope in Jesus. And as we move forward as a church family, inclusion and belonging remain at the center of who we are as followers of Christ.
